Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the USS Key West (SSN 722) Blog!

This site is designed for and about the crew of the US Navy's fast attack submarine--the USS Key West. After exploring these pages, I hope you will see just how outstanding this group of Sailors are. They are our sons, brothers, fathers, and husbands. They are our friends, our lovers, our neighbors, and--most important of all--our protectors. They are true American Heroes.

But, before you get underway, a few points guide you on your journey....

  • The date of THIS post will tell you the last time this site was updated.
  • All entries are listed on the right in alphabetical order under "Posts".
  • Entries are also listed chronologically under "Boat's Log". However, due to Blogger.com's limitations for backdating posts, all events occurring prior to January 1, 1990 will be found on the January 1, 1990 Log. All undated posts are listed on the January 2, 1990 Log. Entries where only the year of the event can be determined are listed under January 1st of that year.
  • Many of the images have larger versions which can be viewed by clicking on the post's image.
  • Much of the information found here has been gleaned from other websites--mostly official US Navy websites. This is an attempt to centralize as much of the information available as possible--especially those items that may be eventually "archived" out of our reach.
  • If you have any information or photos you would like to share, or know of any corrections that need to be made, please feel free to e-mail me!
  • No information about current deployments or missions will be found here. Please do not ask. The old saying is still true--Loose Lips, Sink Ships! As a result, all comments will be reviewed for any information regarding current boat movements.
